Kathy Z. Price is the author of two literary picture books and the most recent, Mardi Gras Almost Didn't Come This Year, about Hurricane Katrina, 2022, Atheneum, Simon & Schuster, with starred reviews from Horn Books, ALA Booklist and Publisher's Weekly.
Her first picture book, The Bourbon Street Musicians, Clarion, Houghton Mifflin, 2002, was favorably reviewed in the New York Times, received a starred review from ALA Booklist, and is a Children's Literature Assembly Notable Book.
Kathy Z. Price's work is featured in Tri-Quarterly Review, Bayou Magazine, Cincinnati Review, Pleiades and award winner of the Cut Air Poetry Competition with her poem celebrating Gwendolyn Brooks and two-time Pushcart Nominee.
Kathy Z. Price also received a New York Foundation of the Arts Fellowship in poetry. She is a MacDowell, Hedgebrook, Edward Albee and Cave Canem Fellow.
